What it measures
The candle body (close − open) as a fraction of the bar’s range (high − low), lightly smoothed and summed over the window. The idea: in an uptrend prices tend to close near the high, in a downtrend near the low.
How traders use it
- Crossovers of RVI and its signal line, the main signal.
- Divergence from price as a warning.
